Can I just reuse any existing coax?
Check the cable condition, connectors, distances and the existing installation first. The point is to retain serviceable infrastructure, not blindly reuse damaged or unsuitable cable.
Does analogue mean low resolution?
No. The current Uniview range at Satsecure includes 5MP and 8MP analogue camera options.
Can I mix analogue and IP cameras?
Yes, with compatible hybrid XVRs. The exact number and resolution of IP channels depends on the recorder you choose.
Do all analogue cameras have audio?
No. Built in microphones and audio over coax depend on the camera, video format and recorder. Check the model specification before quoting it.
When would I still choose a full IP system?
New installations, sites already built around network infrastructure, and projects that need specific IP functionality can make a full IP system the better fit. Analogue earns its place when the existing infrastructure gives you a reason to keep it.
Which camera should I start with?
